Mike McGowan
Mike is a third generation horsemen with over 40 years experience in the horse industry. He has shown and trained all over the east coast from local horse shows to National Finals. He is a member of the USEF,USHJA and PHA.
Jamee Swope
Jamee has been a student of Heritage Stables since 2003. Her interest in horses started close to 2 years old, and has grown stronger ever since.
Jamee successfully competed in “A” rated shows in the hunter and equitation divisions. Even securing many blue ribbons and end of the year Championships with longtime super star lesson horse Tuna. After showing the local circuit, her goals of training started quickly there after.
Jamee has trained for private clients since 2009, as well as working, training, riding at most of the local barns in Skaneateles N.Y. Jamee spent a year in Ocala, FL managing, riding, and learning new techniques and skills such as breaking and training, as well as liberty work. She got to work at a sales barn for a previous Olympic rider and also got to run children summer camps.
Jamee came back to NY and managed Marcellus Equestrian Center for two years. They offered training, selling and Jamee built a lesson program as well as a facility with amazing empathetic care.
She then took a couple of years off from managing and training for other clients and owners. She was inspired to find out how much horses really can help, outside of just riding. After finding the right program she completed her certification through EAGALA as an Equine Specialist. JAMEE decided to start her own business, named New Day Equine Services. Teaming up with specialists and horses to offer a safe haven where children and adults can learn to heal, and be the best versions of themselves.
That leads us to 2019 when the opportunity to teach at Heritage opened up, and Jamee was ecstatic to take the job!
Since then in less than a year, she has grown a successful lesson business and has new riders attending shows! “ I am so grateful to be offered the opportunity to grow and build a business alongside a farm and family, that offered the exact thing to me 15 plus years ago. It is the ultimate gift to be able to give back to others what once was given to me”
